From February 9-11, 2018, Color Bearers and Standard Bearers from across the country gathered in Greenville, South Carolina, for our annual Donor Thank You Weekend.
It was an unforgettable weekend of history and fun, touring the battlefields of the lesser-known Southern Campaign of the American Revolution. We kicked off the weekend with an engaging history talk by Garry Adelman and Kris White, followed by a welcome reception at our home base, the historic Westin Poinsett Hotel in downtown Greenville.
On Sunday, President Jim Lighthizer held a Breakfast Q&A session before the final tour half-day tour of Ninety Six Historic Site. As always, it was a wonderful weekend of camaraderie. This was the first Donor Thank You Weekend to be focused on the American Revolution, and it is safe to say that everyone came away inspired, and better educated on this fascinating part of our nation’s history!
Garry Adelman, Kris White, and a host of Revolutionary War characters!
Garry Adelman, Director of History & Education at the Trust, and Kris White, Education Manager at the Trust, give an animated History Talk to kick us off on Friday, "From Savannah to Yorktown: A Brief Introduction to the Southern Campaign."
