REGISTRATION CONTINUED: Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult. Allow 24 hours to receive the registration confirmation from The River Line Historic Area with organizer's phone number for any additional questions. APRIL 20 CHECK-IN: Complementary coffee and water will be available during volunteer check-in at 9:45 A.M. The check-in table location will be in the rear of the 2-acre park off Fort Drive.
PARKING: All parking is free on the residential side streets around the park. Fort Dr. is the most convenient parking to the check-in table.
Planned Activities
Following a work plan and safety briefing, work will begin at 10 A.M. and wrap up at noon. Volunteers will be cutting and clearing invasive vegetation from wooded areas of the park.
ATTIRE: Appropriate attire includes closed-toe sturdy work shoes, socks, long pants, gardening gloves, hat, and a long-sleeve cover-up shirt to protect arms from scratches & bugs. Bottled drinking water will be provided.
History or Educational Activities
SHOUPADE PARK HISTORY: The 160-year-old Civil War Confederate fortifications preserved in this 2-acre park are listed on the Cobb County Register of Historic Places. The Shoupade forts built in 1864 are exclusive to Georgia’s Chattahoochee River Line. The park's 4 interpretive signs provide fortification details. MORE HISTORY: The Smyrna History Museum, 2861 Atlanta Rd, Smyrna, GA 30080, is only 4 miles from Shoupade Park.
which includes a River Line display along with other Smyrna history. Admission is free and open Saturday until 4 P.M.

THINGS TO BRING: If you have small hand pruners, please bring them labeled with your name.

In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be cancelled.
