Meeting place
At 8:45AM, volunteers should meet at the Shiloh Visitor Center. The projects will begin at 9:00AM, but arriving early allows us to get any necessary paperwork completed before work begins.
Planned Activities
Shiloh National Military Park has two projects that we would like to tackle for Park Day this year. Our primary goal is to paint some new picnic tables. If we have enough volunteers to complete the picnic table project, we will also be constructing a split rail fence on the battlefield.
History or Educational Activities
A brief program on the significance of the Battle of Shiloh as well as an orientation to the park will be offered before work begins.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
The park will supply paint and paint brushes. If the split rail fence project is able to be tackled, bringing a pair of good work gloves is recommended.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to April 20, 2024.
Please note
Please come dressed for the weather, and wearing sturdy, comfortable shoes. A water bottle is also recommended.
