Meeting place
Meet at the fort on Fort DeRussy Road, north of Marksville. We'll put in a good three hours of work, then we can take a tour and discuss the fort's future.
Planned Activities
It's another clean-up day. We'll be picking up sticks and cleaning debris, fallen trees, etc. Bring work gloves and, if you have them, bring limb loppers, rakes, matches, trash bags and other such tools as you might need for cleaning up a wooded area.
History or Educational Activities
To weak or lazy to actually work? Come on out anyway, and learn about the fort. The author of "Earthen Walls, Iron Men" will be there to talk about the fort history and future.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Rakes, weedeaters, work gloves, etc.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be cancelled.
