Meeting place
Volunteers will gather in front of the historic Robert Hall Pearson Farmhouse, going 3 miles east of Baldwin City, Kansas, on US Highway 56 and then 1/3 mile south on E 2000 Road.
Planned Activities
Trail maintenance, removal of invasive plants from the prairie, picking up sticks and limbs, removing trash and debris, and other activities to prepare the Park for the coming visitor season.
History or Educational Activities
There will be a presentation on the history of the Battle of Black Jack.
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
Volunteers can bring yard work tools and work gloves.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will be moved to April 13, 2024.
Please note
Volunteers should wear clothing appropriate for working outdoors including sturdy footwear. NOTE: There will be NO restroom facilities available on site, so volunteers should plan accordingly.
