Meeting place
We will be meeting at the Visitor Center at 9AM, coffee/water and donuts to start.
Planned Activities
One thrilling day to destroy the invasive plants of the nasty Autumn Olive and super powered Bush Honeysuckle. For our younger destroyers of invasive plants we will direct you to the ever spreading Garlic Mustard plant. This might not sound like the most interesting of battles, but these invaders are destroying our natural habits and encroaching on the battlefield itself. We will stop for a pizza lunch at high noon before going back to round up some more of those nasty invaders.
For those who might have a harder time fighting off the invasive species, we would love to have some help giving the Anderson House a spring cleaning. Battling dust bunnies' to win the battle.
History or Educational Activities
We will teach you how to identify the invaders (I mean invasive species).
Should I bring any tools or supplies?
If you are able to please bring some strong loppers, clippers, small chainsaws (if you are proficient), and gloves.
Is there a rain date?
In the instance of inclement weather, Park Day will continue as planned.
Please note
We have one trax chair for someone with mobility issues. Incase you are wondering a Trax chair is a Tracked Wheelchair like a tank.
