Getting to Gettysburg

What are the travel options to get to Gettysburg?

During the Event

Is there a host hotel for this conference?

• The Gettysburg Hotel will be the headquarters for this event. It’s where we’ll have registration on Thursday and Friday morning, as well as our breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

What are the locations for the various meals and activities for the conference?

• Registration is tentatively scheduled to take place at the Gettysburg Hotel, located at One Lincoln Square.
• The History Talks will take place at the Adams County Historical Society, located at 625 Biglerville Road.
• The Thursday Evening Welcome & Photo Extravaganza will take place at the Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center, located at 1195 Baltimore Pike.
• Breakfast on Sunday is at the Gettysburg Hotel. Friday and Saturday optional breakfasts are at the Gettysburg Hotel.
• Specific tour departure and arrival times will be announced at a later date. You can expect departures between 8:00 am and 9:00 am, with return times between 3:00 and 5:00 pm.
• The Friday evening Honor Guard Reception and Color Bearer Reception & Dinner will take place at the Gettysburg Hotel.
• Saturday evening's Revelry on the Ridge, will take place at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and Seminary Ridge Museum, 61 Seminary Ridge

What meals are included in the full registration fee?

As part of your registration, you are provided with the following meals:

• Thursday The Welcome Reception includes appetizers, beer, wine, sodas and dessert.
• Friday includes lunch on your tour. An optional breakfast buffet is also available for those interested.
• Saturday includes lunch on your tour. An optional breakfast buffet is also available for those interested.
• Sunday includes a breakfast buffet.
• Color Bearers are invited to the Color Bearer Author Dinner on Friday evening.

Will there be American Battlefield Trust merchandise for sale at the event?

• No, we will not have merchandise for sale at the event. However, you can get your American Battlefield Trust "swag" on our online store here.
• To receive a 15% discount on your order, please use the code Gettysburg24 until May 6, 2024. 

Will you offer transportation around Gettysburg during the conference?

• Yes! There will be designated stops throughout Gettysburg to shuttle you to scheduled activities. The full schedule of stops and times will be posted at a later date. 
• If you prefer to drive yourself and park at these locations, there will be limited parking available.
• Gettysburg has an excellent transit system that is user friendly and low cost, (or free for senior citizens): Gettysburg PA Bus Schedules - rabbittransit. This is an ideal option for getting around town outside of scheduled activities, or even to attend conference events.

What is the attire during for the activities scheduled during the weekend?

This is YOUR vacation, and we want you to be comfortable and casual. However, for particular events, we can suggest the following:

• Thursday: Casual to Business/Smart Casual for Welcome and Photo Extravaganza.
• Friday and Saturday Tours: Casual clothing with closed toed walking shoes. We strongly suggest long pants for battlefield tours.
• Saturday Evening History Fair, Revelry on the Ridge: Casual/Smart Casual with comfortable walking shoes.
• Color Bearer Events: Thursday Tours - Casual clothing with closed toed walking shoes. We strongly suggest long pants for battlefield tours. Friday Color Bearer Dinner: Business/Semi-Formal Attire

Please remember to check the weather and be prepared. We also recommend you bring a hat, umbrella or rain jacket, sunscreen and bug spray.
