General William T. Sherman was born in this house in 1820. When his father Charles died in 1829, he left his widow, Mary Hoyt Sherman, with eleven children. The home and its furnishings reflect the lifestyle of the remarkable Sherman Family. Civil War exhibits and Sherman Family memorabilia located on the second floor.
