The North Carolina Museum of History encourages visitors to explore state, regional, and local North Carolina history. Exhibits change, so please call for current offerings. Several past exhibits can be viewed online, including North Carolina and the Civil War, the story of North Carolinians who lived, served, and sacrificed during the bloody conflict. The permanent exhibit, "A Call to Arms: North Carolina Military History Gallery" features weapons, uniforms, home front items, photographs and other objects from wars that have touched thousands of Tar Heel lives. A section of the exhibit highlights the Civil War.
