Gettysburg National Military Park preserves and protects the Gettysburg battlefield and the Soldiers' National Cemetery, site of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. The three days of fighting on July 1, 2, and 3, 1863, are considered a turning point in the war and marked the end of the second and final invasion of the North by the Confederate forces.
