(Middletown, Va.) - On Wednesday, October 15, representatives of Belle Grove, Inc., the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation, the National Park Service, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Shenandoah County, and the Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation will join the Civil War Trust at Belle Grove Plantation for an exciting preservation announcement in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Cedar Creek.
The event will emphasize the partnerships that have led to preservation successes at this unique public-private national park and kick off the weekend's commemorative sesquicentennial events. Partners of Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park have saved a total of 1,692 acres of battlefield to date.
The news conference will be held at Belle Grove Plantation, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
