The Civil War Trust is the largest and most effective nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation of America’s hallowed battlegrounds.  Although primarily focused on the protection of Civil War battlefields, the Trust’s Campaign 1776 initiative works to save the battlefields connected to the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 as well. Through educational programs and heritage tourism initiatives, we also seek to inform the public about the vital role these battlefields played in determining the course of our nation’s history.

Below, find our latest news and learn about these projects, both past and current. Stay up to date on the Trust’s latest preservation efforts, advocacy campaigns and education initiatives, and get inspired by our innovative conservation work at America’s battlefields!
