Join this site as a volunteer on Park Day 2018, the Civil War Trust’s annual hands-on event to help battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects large and small. Details:

Meeting place: On the front porch of the Thomas A. Hill House/GAR Memorial Home at 159 Union Street in Bangor

Meeting time: 10AM-1PM

Planned Activities: Clearing Brush, Landscaping, Painting, Trash Removal

Planned Low-Impact Activities: Painting and tidying inside the museum

Bring Tools & Supplies: Work gloves

History or Educational Programs: Tours of the Hill House with a special focus on our large Civil War collection

Food provided: Yes, water only

In the Event of Inclement Weather: Continue as planned

Please note: Exact activities will depend on the weather. If it is nice out, volunteers will help with landscaping outside the Hill House to get ready for the museum's opening in May. If it is cold or there is still snow on the ground, visitors will help with tidying and painting inside the museum.
