Preserving the Middleburg Battlefield
On May 9, 2012, Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell joined the Civil War Trust and local preservationists to present a $432,000 grant to help preserve a 5-acre portion of the Middleburg battlefield known as Mount Defiance.
