Take action today
to save Gettysburg for future generations
Last year, Americans descended on Gettysburg to commemorate the battle that took place there in July 1863, 150 years ago. As we remembered those who fought and died on those fields, we must continue the fight to protect their legacy by preserving these hallowed grounds.
Concerned citizens and preservation advocates twice defeated proposed casinos planned near the battlefield, but the threat remains. We must take action to preserve this national treasure for generations of Americans to come.
Pennsylvania Rep. Paul Clymer introduced HB 889 to create a “zone of respect” around Gettysburg National Military Park and Flight 93 National Memorial to keep casinos away from these hallowed grounds. This bill is the best way we can leave a lasting legacy of the sesquicentennial of the Battle of Gettysburg and President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
With your help we will preserve for future generations the sanctified, dignified and reverent atmosphere of Gettysburg – America’s best known historic site.
