What you can do to help: The Morris Island Coalition encourages the public to sign petitions and write to local newspapers. Speak out about the importance of Morris Island to both the nation and community. Charleston area residents in particular are encouraged to make their voices heard.

Write to Local Newspapers
Battlefield supporters are urged to write to newspapers that cover the Charleston area, particularly the Charleston Post and Courier.

Members of the Charleston County Council
Write to your elected officials to tell them you oppose development on Morris Island. The County Council is the government body responsible for rezoning property in Charleston County. The developer will have to convince them to rezone Morris Island before he can move forward.
