Target Property: South Cavalry Field
On July 3, 1863, Federal cavalry fought against Georgia infantrymen from George "Tige" Anderson's brigade on this farm west of the Emmitsburg Road. This 74-acre parcel is just one of four properties the Civil War Trust is now working to preserve at Gettysburg.

Taney Farm Ruins
The Civil War Trust is currently working to save the historic John Taney farm, the ruins of which can still be seen today. On July 3, 1863, the 2nd Virginia was posted here as skirmishers, thereby representing the extreme left of the Confederate army at Gettysburg.
