About the Authors
Daniel T. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in public history from Longwood University. He worked for five years as a historian with the National Park Service at Appomattox Court House National Historic Site and the Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park. He currently resides in Vienna, Va., with his wife, Katy, and beagle mix, Bayla.
Phillip S. Greenwalt is currently employed as a historian for the National Park Service in Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Wheeling Jesuit University and a graduate degree in American history from George Mason University. He is a native of Baltimore, Md., but currently resides with his wife, Adel, an elementary school teacher in Montross, Va.
Greenwalt and Davis are both regular contributors to Emerging Civil War (www.emergingcivilwar.com) a blog dedicated to providing a voice to the next generation of American Civil War historians.
