What is Civil War In4?

Civil War In4 is a series of videos featuring historians discussing basic Civil War topics. Videos are generally no more than four minutes long, and subjects range from a description of notable Confederate generals, to an explanation of Civil War artillery, to a description of the significance of the Western Theater.

How do I use these in a classroom?

However you’d like! Our videos are available in standard and high definitions (by clicking on the “HD” logo in the bottom right section of the video tool bar). They may also be watched on our website, from Vimeo.com, embedded in a webpage, or downloaded. Anyone may use our videos for any non-commercial purpose as long as the video is not changed and is attributed to the Civil War Trust. Teachers who are watching on our website will also notice that many In4 videos are accompanied by relevant lesson plans, for which the videos could be used as a companion.

Where do I find more on the topics?

Check out the resources provided on the video pages on our website. Many videos have a full webpage (or more) dealing specifically with the topic.
