2010 Essay Contest Winners

2010 theme: "Take Action: Save Civil War Battlefields"

This annual contest, co-sponsored by the Civil War Preservation Trust and History, encourages students to consider the best way to convince elected officials to stop developers from destroying a Civil War battlefield. Students submit Civil War preservation themed posters and essays and compete for cash prizes. Teachers of winning students receive gift certificates to History's online store. Selected posters and essays are also featured in the Civil War Preservation Trust’s magazine, Hallowed Ground.
