Zollicoffer Park

Nancy, KY 42544, USA

Zollicoffer Park marks the site of the fiercest fighting in the Battle of Mill Springs, an important early Civil War conflict. The park is named for Confederate Gen. Felix K. Zollicoffer, mortally wounded in the battle. The park contains a 0.5-mile walking trail, interpretive signs, the Confederate mass grave, and the Zollicoffer Confederate Memorial Cemetery.

Directions

From I-75 take the London/U.S. 80 exit; follow U.S. 80 west to Somerset. At Somerset take the Cumberland Parkway west. (U.S. 80 and the parkway are the same route briefly in Somerset.) From the Cumberland Parkway take the second left and then the first right. Proceed approximately 9 miles on Kentucky 80 to Nancy. At Nancy turn left (south) on Kentucky 235. Proceed approximately 1 mile to Zollicoffer Park on the left. Watch for the brown signs for Mill Springs Battlefield.
