Ulysses S. Grant, commander of the Union Army in the Civil War and eighteenth president of the United States, was born in this small frame cottage in Point Pleasant, Ohio. Today, Grant's birthplace is restored and open to the public.

Located in the Clermont County Village of Point Pleasant, off State Route 52 about 5 miles east of New Richmond (near the intersection of State Route 132).
