Spalding Hall

Oscar Getz Museum, 114 North 5th Street, Bardstown, KY 40004, USA

Spalding Hall is a large, five-story, Federal-style brick building erected in 1826 as part of the former St. Joseph's College. It was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Now a museum, Spalding Hall includes a room featuring Civil War artifacts and memorabilia. The museum guide can provide information on Bardstown's role in the Civil War.

From southbound Bluegrass Parkway take exit 25; turn right onto U.S. 150, which becomes Stephen Foster Avenue. Turn right at the fourth traffic light (circle halfway around the county courthouse in the center of town) onto North Fifth Street. From northbound Bluegrass Parkway take exit 21; travel north (turn left) on U.S. 31 east. Turn right on West Stephen Foster Avenue, proceed to first traffic light, and turn left onto North Fifth Street.
