Sherman House Museum

137 East Main Street, Lancaster, OH 43130, USA

General William T. Sherman was born in this house in 1820. When his father Charles died in 1829, he left his widow, Mary Hoyt Sherman, with eleven children. The home and its furnishings reflect the lifestyle of the remarkable Sherman Family. Civil War exhibits and Sherman Family memorabilia located on the second floor.

From I-70 take State Route 33 south to Lancaster or State Route 37 south to Lancaster.Take either route to Main Street. From 33 turn left onto Main Street. From 37 turn right onto Main Street. If you enter Lancaster from 22 East or 22 West you will come into town on Main Street.

Visitor Services

Gift shop and restroom. Tour of second floor by DVD available.
