Poison Spring State Park

Poison Springs State Park, Chidester, AR 71726, USA

Poison Spring State Park is a day use park complete with picnic furnishings, a trail and a diorama summarizing the Battle of Poison Spring. This site is dedicated to the battle fought there April 18, 1864, during the Camden expedition of the Red River Campaign. Confederate troops attacked Union soldiers returning from taking supplies from Camden, Ark.

Directions

Poison Spring State Park is located on State Highway 76, approximately 13 miles west of Camden, Arkansas off State Highway 24.

Visitor Services

Outdoor exhibits are handicapped accessible, picnic tables with grills, and 3/4 mile hiking trail (not handicapped accessible)

Regular Events

Living History in April with reenactors demostrating the 1864 way of life.
