Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic Site

4432 Mount Tabor Church Road, Dallas, GA 30157, USA

The Battle of Pickett's Mill involved 24,000 troops and resulted in a Confederate victory. The Union forces under Maj. Gen. Oliver O. Howard suffered 1,600 casualties, while the Confederates under Maj. Gen. Patrick R. Cleburne suffered only 500. The battlefield is in an excellent state of preservation.

Directions

Take I-20 exit #44. Turn onto Thornton Rd. (Hwy 278) West. Follow Hwy 278 West for 10 miles. Make a right onto Hwy 92. Travel North on Hwy 92 for approximately 6 miles. Look for brown Pickett's Mill signs as you continue. Turn left onto Due West Rd. Continue 2 miles. Turn right onto Mt. Tabor Church Rd. The site is 1/2 mile on the right.

First weekend in June, annual living history encampment; Autumn, reenactment of the Confederate night attack; year - round weekend interpretive programs.
