Mosby Heritage Area, Rector House

Once the stage for Civil War activity in northern Virginia, the Mosby Heritage Area geographically encompasses what was commonly known as "Mosby's Confederacy." Here Col. John Singleton Mosby led his Rangers in dramatic raids and fought many cavalry battles. Brochures, maps, and audio tours outlining a variety of driving tours in the heritage area's seven Virginia and West Virginia counties are available by contacting the Mosby Heritage Area Association, headquartered in the Rector House.

Directions

From I-495 take Route 66 west to Route 50, then take 50 west to Milddleburg.

Visitor Services

Available Interpretation

The Mosby Heritage Area has a variety of signage. We have driving tours both in printed form and ones that can be downloaded from our website. Numerous sites within the heritage area have interpretive programming.
