Maryland Historical Society

The Maryland Historical Society is the state's largest cultural institution. Including a museum, library, press, and extensive educational programs, the MHS collects, preserves, and interprets objects and materials reflecting Maryland's diverse heritage. A popular exhibition, "Maryland in the Civil War," displays uniforms, documents, photographs and ephemera illustrating Maryland's role in the Civil War. The MHS library also has numerous documents related to Civil War history.

From I-95: Take Exit 53 (I-395) to Martin Luther King Boulevard. Right on Druid Hill Avenue (W. Centre Street). Left on Park Avenue. Left on Monument Street. The MdHS and parking will be on your left. From 83 South: Take the Maryland Avenue exit and turn left onto Maryland Avenue. Maryland Avenue merges with Cathedral Street. Follow Cathedral Street and turn right on Monument Street. Cross Park Avenue and the MdHS and parking will be on your left.
