Kentucky Gateway Museum Center

215 Sutton Street, Maysville, KY 41056, USA

Old Washington, a suburb of Maysville, is the childhood home of Albert Sydney Johnston. His home is now a historic museum. Col. Thomas Marshall raised the Sixteenth Kentucky Brigade in Mason County. Families were divided during the war and the museum research library holds many important original documents and books pertaining to the Civil War, including a diary, orders, muster rolls and letters.

Coming from the north (Aberdeen, OH) turn right on 3rd St. off Simon Kenton Bridge then right onto Sutton Street. Coming from the south (Lexington, KY area) on US 68, cross KY 9 (AA Highway) and turn left at the fifth stoplight onto Third Street. Turn right at second four-way stop onto Sutton Street.
