Historic Carson House

1805 U.S. 70, Marion, NC 28752, USA

One of the sites of Gen. George Stoneman's raid in 1865, the Historic Carson House was commandeered as Union headquarters and troops camped on the property for several days. A small skirmish between Stoneman's Raiders and the Confederate home guard took place on the property on April 19, 1865, in one of the last skirmishes of the war.

Directions

From I-40 take the Marion exit to Highway 70. Continue on Highway 70 approximately 4 miles west of Marion and follow the signs to Carson House.
