Historic Blakeley State Park

The last major battle of the Civil War was fought at Blakeley on April 19, 1865 -- the same day as the surrender of Gen. Robert E. Lee, miles away in Virginia. The Battle of Blakeley was a major news event in the coverage of the Civil War.

Directions

From I-10: Go north on U.S. Highway 98 to U.S. Highway 31 and take a right. Turn left on Highway 225 and go 4 1/2 miles. Park is on left.225 south fifteen miles.
