Heyward House Historic Center

70 Boundary Street, Bluffton, SC 29910, USA

On June 4, 1863, Union troops came down along the May River and bombed the town. Seventy-five percent of the town burned.  Only eight homes and two churches survive today from the antebellum period.  The Heyward House is one of those eight homes and is the only one open to the public.

Directions

Going east on US-278, turn right onto SC-46. At the traffic circle, continue straight. Continue through the 4-way stop onto Boundary Street. Destination will be on the right at 70 Boundary St. Parking is on Green Street and Bridge Street.
