Herbert S. Ford Memorial Museum

519 West Main Street, Homer, LA 71040, USA

Homer was a departure point for Confederate soldiers during the Civil War and also served as a regional refugee center for persons fleeing Union occupied territory. The museum houses a fascinating collection of memorabilia and artifacts from the north Louisiana hill country, including Civil War items.

From I-20 west exit at Minden; follow U.S. 79 for approximately 20 miles. The museum is on the right at the first light in Homer.

Adults $3.00, children $1.00, families $5.00. Special rates for school groups.


Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00AM - 12:00PM, 1:00PM - 4:00PM or by appointment.
