Grand Gulf Military Monument Park

12006 Grand Gulf Road, Port Gibson, MS 39150, USA

The river batteries at Grand Gulf were the southernmost leg of the Vicksburg defenses. Grant tried to land his army at Grand Gulf but was driven off by the Confederate batteries. After the Battle of Port Gibson, Grand Gulf became Grant's base of operations.

Directions

Between Vicksburg and Natchez, Mississippi you will find Grand Gulf Military Park located off of US Highway 61, 7 miles north west of Port Gibson, Mississippi. Go west on Grand Gulf Road (also 462), for 7 miles. The park is located on the right.

Visitor Services

Public rest rooms, information, handicapped access, gift shop, museums, camping, trails.
