Cold Harbor Battlefield Park

Cold Harbor Battlefield Park is a county park with interpretative trails commemorating the battle fought there from May 31 to June 12, 1864. The 50-acre park surrounds the historic Garthright House. Included on the property are numerous Civil War trenches and rifle pits.

Directions

Traveling north on I-95: take exit 74C, which merges onto 17th Street. Take 17th Street to Broad Street (4 blocks). Turn right on Broad Street and stay on it to 14th Street (3 blocks). Turn left on 14th Street and stay on it to Canal Street. Turn right and stay on Canal Street to 5th Street (9 blocks). Turn left on 5th Street and stay on it to Tredegar Street (2 blocks). Turn right on Tredegar Street and then turn right again into the parking lot for the American Civil War Center and Richmond National Battlefield Park's Civil War Visitor Center. It is recommended that you start your tour of the battlefield here.

Walking trails with interpretive signs; persons who would have difficulty on a gravel trail may call ahead for vehicle access; rest rooms and other services available at Richmond National Battlefield Park, approximately 0.5 mile away.
