Castillo de San Marcos National Monument

1 South Castillo Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32084, USA

Built from 1672 - 1695 as a colonial Spanish fortress, it was renamed Fort Marion in 1821 (and reverted to its original Spanish name in 1942). Confederate forces occupied this fort from early 1861 until they withdrew the next year on arrival of a Union naval force.

From I-95: Take the exit for St. Augustine Historic Sites and Downtown (Route 16, Exit 318). Follow Rt. 16 to US 1. Turn right on US 1 for approximately one mile to West Castillo Drive. Turn left on West Castillo to the traffic light. Turn right at the light. The Castillo and parking are ahead on the left.

Self-guided tours, exhibit, parking, parking lot and lower level of fort are handicapped accessible, museum rooms, theater, bookstore, restrooms

Adults $7.00 (valid for 7 consecutive days), Children under 15 free when accompanied by an adult.
