Ball's Bluff Battlefield Regional Park

Surrounding the national cemetery, this regional park preserves the site of the Battle of Ball's Bluff on October 21, 1861, the largest Civil War engagement to take place in Loudon County. Hiking trails and interpretive signs aid in the understanding of this important and tragic part of American history.

Directions

From Route 7 west toward Leesburg, take the Route 15 bypass north. Turn right on Battlefield Parkway. Take the first left onto Ball's Bluff Road NE. The park is located at the end of the road.

Visitor Services

Information; trails, fishing. Dogs on leash allowed. Portable restrooms only available during the tour season.

Regular Events

Weekends May-Oct., free battlefield tours, 11 AM and 1PM each weekend day

Available Interpretation

Free battlefield tours conducted by expert guides; self-guided audio tour available on the website; brochure available at visitor's kiosk.
