Ulysses S. Grant Boyhood Home and Schoolhouse

219 E Grant Ave, Georgetown, OH 45121, USA

Childhood home of the 18th President and first General of the Army, Ulysses S. Grant. Museum and tours offered from May to October, Wednesday through Sunday or by appointment; sites also include the two-room Dutch Hill schoolhouse he attended as a boy, and a granite statue in the courthouse square.

From I-275 South, take exit number 63 to State Route 32 East; continue for 19 miles. Exit onto US 68 South, continue for 12 miles into Georgetown, turn right onto Camp Run/E Ohio Rd and continue for a half mile; turn left onto E Grant.

Visitor Services

Museum, information, gift shop, public restrooms, handicapped access.

Regular Events

An annual celebration is held every year in April, known as Grant Days. It features speakers, music, reenactors, and living history demonstrations, along with scripted roundtables from Grant and his staff.

Available Interpretation

The sites features outdoor signage visible 24/7, and guided tours when open. Additionally, there is an animatronic “Grant” inside the home that will tell stories about his youth and home life.
