Preservation Opportunity: 173 Acres
Bentonville, N.C.

Site of the Last Great Assault of the Civil War
It was General Joe Johnston’s last chance to stop the surging Union forces under General William Tecumseh Sherman before they reached Grant outside of Petersburg, Virginia. With savage fury the Confederates and then Union troops assaulted one another over a three-day stretch outside of Bentonville, North Carolina.

The CWPT is currently working to save 173 acres of this historic 1865 battlefield. And with a $7.72 to $1 match there has never been a better time to increase the giving power of your donation.
