Help Us Save 178 Acres
Rarely do we have such historic preservation opportunities to consider!
Join us as we seek to save 178 acres of the Port Republic battlefield - the final battle of Stonewall Jackson's famed Valley Campaign of 1862.
According to historian Robert K. Krick, the "verdant river-side meadow on which the battle raged looks today as it did a century and a half ago. Most of the fighting focused on an alluvial plain within the 178 acre tract. Saving that site for posterity is a matchlessly good idea."
