Mount Defiance Satellite Map

Satellite view of the 5-acre Mount Defiance tract on the Middleburg Battlefield.  It was upon this site that JEB Stuart fashioned a defensive line one mile west of the town of Middleburg.  On June 19, 1863, cavalry forces under the command of Col. J. Irvin Gregg launched an attack upon Mount Defiance and after a sharp struggle forced Stuart to give up this strong position and fall back towards the town of Upperville, Virginia.
