Help Save Perryville

The Civil War Trust is proud to announce a new campaign to save 141 acres at the Perryville Battlefield in Kentucky. This new tract includes the very ground where Bushrod Johnson, Daniel Adams, and Patrick Cleburne's men met determined defenders from Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. Let's work together to save this important, unprotected section of the Perryville battlefield.

August 2011
Dear Civil War Preservationist,

Late summer is a time usually filled with vacations, barbecues, and distraction, but here at the Civil War Trust we remain as busy as ever. Just this month we announced our new campaign to save 141 acres at the Perryville battlefield. This new tract around the Squire Bottom house contains some of the most exciting and historically rich acres that we've had to pleasure to preserve. I really do hope that you'll consider supporting our new campaign in Kentucky.

And just this month we are excited to debut our new Text to Donate service that allows you to use your cellphone to text a $10 donation to the Civil War Trust. So now you can stand on your favorite Civil War battlefield and send us a donation. Our great friend and new Board member Trace Adkins has also been promoting this new way to give at all of his recent concerts. Thank you, Trace!

- Jim Lighthizer, Civil War Trust President
