Dear Civil War Preservationist,

One of our organization's proudest achievements has been the success that we and local groups have had in preserving more than 900 acres of the Bentonville Battlefield. Starting this month we will be looking to add another 20% to what has already been saved at this historic place where, on March 19 - 21, 1865, Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston lunged one last time at Union General William Tecumseh Sherman, and the armies under two of the war's most storied figures locked in a desperate struggle.

I also wanted to thank all of you who attended our 2010 Annual Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. I thought that this was one of our best conferences yet. If you didn't get a chance to attend, or would like to see a reminder of those great times, take a look at our photo and video collections from the conference. I do hope that each of you will join us for our 2011 Conference in Manassas - our first Annual Conference of the Civil War Sesquicentennial.
