The Four-Day National Teacher Institute
The National Teacher Institute allows educators multiple days to investigate the American Civil War and the latest instructional methods related to such a challenging topic.
The National Teacher Institute consists of a two-day program bookended by optional events. The Teacher Institute is free to educators while the optional programs entail nominal fees only to offset the Civil War Trust’s additional costs. Civil War Trust membership is required to attend the Teacher Institute.
Pre-conference Workshop
Description: A three hour workshop based on ideas you put forward. The pre-conference workshop will feature discussions on topics that participants submit prior to the workshop. The discussions will in some cases be led by the participants while other discussions will be guided by historians with a background in a specific subject. Because teachers are the experts this will provide a space for them to come together to discuss challenges they are facing, problem solve, and idea share. Schedule TBD.
