Following the Institute each year participants are asked to complete an evaluation, letting the Civil War Trust know what worked well and how we can improve. During the past nine years participants have asked for more battlefield tours and an increase in technology workshops.
In order to address the collective feedback and stay within our limited budget, we have restructured both the length and cost of the program. The 2011 Teacher Institute will consist of a two-day program bookended by optional events. The Teacher Institute will be free to educators while the optional programs entail nominal fees only to offset the Civil War Trust’s additional costs. Civil War Trust membership is required to attend the Teacher Institute.
