The Civil War Preservation Trust (CWPT) hosted its Eighth Annual Teacher Institute from July 24-26, 2009 in Spotsylvania County, VA. This free weekend featured workshops, battlefield tours of Chancellorsville and Fredericksburg, entertainment, speakers, and networking opportunities.

2009 Color Bearer Tour

In early March 2009, the Civil War Preservation Trust's Color Bearers were invited tour the many Civil War sites around Mobile Bay with noted historian and author Richard McMurry. During the day long tour, CWPT's Color Bearers visited Fort Morgan, Fort Gaines, and the Fort Blakeley battlefield.

2008 Grand Review: Washington, D.C.

The Civil War Preservation Trust held its annual Grand Review in Washington DC. During this Grand Review, Color Bearer members were able to take advantage of wide range of programs and tours.

2008 Teacher Institute

The Civil War Preservation Trust holds a Teacher Institute each year. In 2008 this event was held in Hagerstown, Maryland and included indepth tours and workshops at the nearby Antietam and Harpers Ferry battlefields. These tours are led by Civil War historians and other experts in the field.
