|Meeting place||The Morning Symposium will be located at the National Park Service’s Palo Alto Battlefield NHP, outdoor in a tent. From US Highway 77/83 From US Hwy 77/83 take the FM 511 exit and turn left onto FM 511/FM 550. Drive east approx. two miles to reach FM 1847. Stay on the right hand lane as you approach FM 1847 to avoid the toll road overpass. Turn left onto FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. Palo Alto Battlefield’s entrance will be on the right, about 600 feet from the historical marker on the corner. From Brownsville, TX Travel north on FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. towards Los Fresnos, TX. Stay on FM 1847/Paredes Line Rd. past the FM 511/FM 550 intersection Palo Alto Battlefield’s entrance will be on the right, about 600 feet from the historical marker on the corner. Afternoon Park Day activities will be at Palmito Ranch Battlefield NHL core battlefield area located 16 miles east of Brownsville, Texas on State Highway 4 (Boca Chica Hwy.)|
|Planned Activities||Symposium: Two speakers on the subject of south Texas in the war and women in the war. At the Battlefield: Trash pick-up, historic interpretation of the Battle of Palmito Ranch, and an orientation on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's conservation efforts.|
