Friday, September 21

10 am – 8 pm            Registration; Location: Patriot Room B

Dinner on your own.

7 or 7:15pm              Civil War Williamsburg Walking Tour. THIS TOUR WILL BE ABOUT ONE HOUR.  You will be assigned to a group and a tour departure time at registration. Meet in the Arrivals Hall of the Williamsburg Lodge.

Tour Description: The old Colonial Capitol of Williamsburg played an important part in the American Civil War. In addition to serving both the Northern and Southern Armies, it experienced a tragic battle on its doorstep. Join in a tour of the major Civil War sites of the town, meet people who were here, and learn more about Williamsburg's role in this heartrending period of America's history. 

Saturday, September 22
Breakfast on your own.

7:30 – 8:30 am          Registration, coffee and muffins available to-go; Location: Arrival Hall

7:45 am - 5:30 pm    The Peninsula Campaign with Robert K. Krick, Frank O'Reilly, and Chris Bryce

This tour will cover highlights of the Peninsula Campaign, including the Siege of Yorktown, Dam Number 1 and the Battle of Williamsburg. Please understand that there will be a moderate walking tour, with walking at each stop throughout the day.

8:45 am – 5:15 pm    Battle of the Ironclads with Craig Symonds

This tour is recommended for those that are not up to a lot of walking. The morning will be spent at The Mariners’ Museum, home of the USS Monitor Center. The afternoon will be spent on a boat touring the Hampton Roads Harbor where the Battle of the Ironclads took place. Please understand that space is limited to 2 buses for the Ironclads tour, due to boat capacity.                          

6:30 – 9:45 pm         Reception and Dinner Banquet and Presentation of Storm on the Horizon: Slavery, Disunion and the Path to the Civil War

Location: Williamsburg Lodge, Virginia Room F

Program description: Storm on the Horizon: Slavery, Disunion and the Path to Civil War finds George Washington and Thomas Jefferson reflecting on the future of the Republic, the blessings of Union and threats of disunion.

Sunday, September 23

8:15 – 8:30 am          Line up for tours, coffee and muffins available to-go; Location: Arrival Hall

8:30 am – 12:30 pm    Civil War and Before: Historic Jamestowne Tour

Civil War and Before: Yorktown Tour

Both of these tours will highlight the full history of the site, leading up to and including the Civil War. The tours will involve a considerable amount of walking. If you aren’t up for a lot of walking we recommend you consider the Historic Jamestowne tour where there are two museums you can enjoy at your leisure, with seating available, while the rest of the tour is on the walking tour.
