Cadet Conference: Be a Wilderness Soldier

Saturday, April 2 @ 2pm

Wilderness Battlefield, Virginia

Generations Event on Park Day

Help instill a lifelong passion for history by bringing your son, daughter, niece, neighbor or friend as we walk in the footsteps of Civil War soldiers in the actual Wilderness. Help instill, as well, a passion for preservation by volunteering in the morning at Park Day.

The Battle of the Wilderness was one of the Civil War’s greatest battles characterized by confusing fighting in tangled second-growth thickets. Grab your musket, learn soldiers’ drill, replicate their movements, serve on an artillery crew and see how they camped.

Bring someone between the ages of 8-18 for this FREE event is part of our Civil War Trust Generations program. As always, our “Cadet Conference” format stresses teamwork, leadership, ethics and responsibility lessons throughout. The Cadet Conference was founded by Civil War Trust member Bob Briney with a generous donation from his estate.
