Florida History Tour with Jim McMillen: Explore the main building of the T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum, followed by a living history presentation about Revolutionary War figure Bernardo de Galvez in Old Christ Church with Jim McMillen of the Pensacola Historic. You’ll have the option to take a very short walk through historic downtown to the church or take a shuttle.
Historic Pensacola Walking Tour with Wesley Odom:
You’ll have time to tour the T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum’s main building first before the tour begins. You’ll be able to rediscover late colonial Pensacola with local historian and author, Wesley Odom. The tour will begin in Plaza Ferdinand (just outside the museum’s entrance), which is the site of a Jacksonian 1814 battle and where the general took control of Pensacola in 1821. Mr. Odom will relate where old Spanish Pensacola began and ended, explain and show the British influence, discuss the Longest Siege of the American Revolution—passing through part of the battlefield—and speak about Jackson’s influence. Sites visited will be the Plaza, Seville area, Ft. George, Civil War monument, and battlefield areas. This tour will have more extensive walking than the Florida History Tour.
